A new addition to The Johnson GEO Centre in St Johns Newfoundland is "Kidsplace".
It's a fun filled and educational space for kids and adults alike, containing a variety of activities to keep everyone busy.
AtlantexCreativeWorks was asked by George Quigley of Quigley Design Associates to help with the design and build the components within Kidsplace to stand up to the rigors of active children. A bit of a trick in itself. But the biggest trick was building the larger parts modular so it could brought into the room and reassembled.
The Kidsplace has a real working Time Tunnel, a Volcano with a realistic lave flow, Fossil bed, drilling rig play set, a Space Station combined with dazzling graphics and lighting.
There is a lot of activities driven into the fairly small space. All fabricated within Atlantex's shop, then brought to site for installation.
