The Millbrook Band, owners and operators of the Truro Power Centre, wanted to create a landmark that reflects the strength and pride of the Mi’kmaq and the Mi’kmaq heritage.
They chose the legendary Glooscap as the subject of the landmark sculpture and they chose AtlantexCreativeWorks to design, fabricate and install the 40’ statue.
Working from a 20” tall maquette, a 3D wireframe was developed from which 8’ sections were carved, fibreglassed and mounted to a steel armature. A separate clear flame with internal lighting topped off the sculpture.
AtlantexCreativeWorks was responsible for all aspects of the design development, including structural engineering, as well as fabrication and installation.
